Our counseling team at Carole’s Hope offers some of the very best and most experienced counselors in the state of Oklahoma. Our team treats many common mental health symptoms including anxiety, depression, panic, worry, stress, PTSD, trauma, mood swings, struggles with self esteem, alcohol and drug addiction, relationship struggles, poor communication skills, poor resilience skills, veteran’s struggles, prenatal and postpartum depression, family conflicts and school conflicts. Our team works with all age groups. Each of our highly experienced counselors specialize in different specific areas. We offer individual counseling, family counseling, and marital counseling.  Our counselors at Carole’s Hope offer many different types of therapy including Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, EMDR, Mindfulness, Resilience Techniques, Circle of Security, PCIT, Stress Management and many other forms of counseling depending on your specific needs. Andrea Martin LPC           Tulsa Office

Andrea has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Andrea loves using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help individuals out of the psychological traps that we create for ourselves. She believes that just because you may not always feel “happy” doesn’t mean you are defective. Andrea helps clients to learn coping skills to help clients find ways to live a rich and meaningful life. Andrea works with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, self esteem issues, sleep problems, aging issues, relationship issues, stress, life transitions, codependency. She also works with ages 16-22 college bound students struggling to find their path, helping to identify mental health issues that may be affecting motivation. 

 

Hannah K Sirman LPC      Tulsa Office     
                                                                     
Hannah has over 5 years of counseling experience in Oklahoma. Hannah helps individuals feel emotionally safe to share their truth. Hannah is a compassionate and attentive listener, who will help guide you through the counseling process to help deepen your personal exploration of life experiences and help you to meet your personal goals. Hannah works with kids, teens and adults and is excellent in working with anxiety, depression, and trauma. She has experience in working with many different types of therapy, including CBT, Mindfulness, Person Centered Therapy, Talk Therapy, PCIT, CPP, and Circle of Security. Her counseling is based on your specific needs. Currently, Hannah is offering in-person sessions in the Tulsa office. Hannah is also a Board Approved Supervisor and offers Licensed Professional Counseling Supervision.
 
 

Angela Jenkins LCSW   Owasso Office

Angela is an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) and graduate of the University of Oklahoma School. She has been working as a therapist for over 8 years with a variety of age groups and a diverse clientele, struggling with a large range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, sexuality, relational problems and many other issues. Angela has a gift for helping her clients to feel comfortable and accepted, while exploring the deeper layers and core issues with her clients. Some of the therapeutic approaches she uses include EMDR, CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy and motivational interviewing. Angela’s therapeutic approach is based according to her client’s needs and desires, to help them find their path to a stronger and healthier mental balance. She feels therapy is a team effort with her clients in the lead role deciding what path and destination is right for their individual needs. Angela provides a map and tools to help her clients on their journey. Angela is currently working in the Owasso office.

Soo-Jung Choi, MSW, LCSW  Tulsa Office

Soo works with pre-teens, teens, adults and families. She received her Bachelor in Business Administration from Boston University in 2001. She then went on to get her Master of Social Work degree at Boston College. She worked with young individuals with histories of trauma, neglect and abuse as an adolescent social worker for the Department of Children and Families in Massachusetts. After moving to OK to be closer to family in 2015, she has worked as a therapist in a community residential setting with teenage girls and their families to help the girls stabilize and safely return to their homes and communities. She has extensive experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, PTSD, trauma and grief. Her past experience has given her a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges faced by adults and adolescents, as well as complicated family dynamics. Soo uses a strengths-based approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and mindfulness strategies to meet each unique individual where they are and to help them move forward with their goals. Soo is currently working in the Tulsa office.

Don Martin MAMFT,  LPC  Tulsa Office

Don has extensive history working with adults with mental health issues including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, chemical dependency, and adult ADD. Don graduated from SNU in 2013. He worked at Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital for over 8 years before coming to Carole’s Hope, working extensively in the Intensive Outpatient Program and in the individual outpatient setting. He has a passion for the group setting, and has completed many hours with both mental health and chemical dependency groups. Don is strength based, and provides a safe environment for clients to work through past, present and future problems while helping clients to meet their current goals, gain strength and feel more empowered.  Don is currently working in the Tulsa office.       

    

Sarah St John MS, LPC, LMFT     Owasso Office                               

Sarah has over fifteen years of extensive experience working at Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital, working in both the Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Programs, as well as providing Individual Outpatient Counseling.  She has also led a Borderline Personality Program, and is one of the best counselors in the field. Sarah see’s clients from ages of 16 years through adulthood. Her goal is to help clients  live their lives more effectively and find their own peace and inner strength. Sarah helps clients to develop a “tool box” of healthy coping skills and a more balanced way of thinking. She is “strength based” and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Skills, Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Resilience techniques and Solution Focused Therapy. Sarah’s specialties include Depression, Anxiety, and Mood Disorders.  Sarah is currently providing telehealth sessions and working in the Owasso office.

Chad Matheny MABC, LPC  Tulsa Office

Chad graduated from the Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling in 2001. Chad has 19 years of experience in the counseling field, working with the seriously mentally ill population as well as individuals who are struggling with anxiety and depression to help them manage through hopelessness and create stability for the future. Chad previously worked at Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital  in the inpatient unit, intensive outpatient unit and as an outpatient therapist. Chad is very passionate about helping others to work through their challenges and learn tools to better manage difficult moments. Chad believes that every child and adult has worth, but hardships, trials and the “unexpected” cloud awareness. Chad works to help clients reconnect to their worth, through breaking down false beliefs, constructing new accurate narratives, and restoring trust in oneself, so as to allow change, healing and growth. Chad is currently working in the Tulsa office.

Kathryn Bishop MS,  LPC   Tulsa Office

Kathryn is highly experienced  working in the counseling field for over 30 years. She worked for 18 years at Parkside Psychiatric Hospital and Clinic, working in many areas including Director of Social Services, Director of the Adult Unit, Director of the Adolescent Acute Unit and Director of the Children’s Unit. She also has extensive experience with crisis intervention and individual and group counseling. She is strength based, compassionate and solution focused. She is currently offering both telehealth and “in office” services for ages 8 through adults needing help with anxiety, depression, trauma, and building inner strength. She is very comforting, creating a very safe environment to share, while learning the coping skills needed to regain strength and hope. Kathryn is currently working in the Tulsa office.

Kyra Clark LPC    Tulsa Office

 Kyra helps her clients to understand the unique experience of being a teenager or young adult. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over four years of experience working specifically with this age group.  She provides a safe space that welcomes you with acceptance and understanding. She works with her clients to find “clarity” and increase the ability to better manage anxiety and depression. She also works with conflict and relationship dynamics by learning to communicate your needs, process feelings, practice healthy coping skills and heal from trauma. If you’re ready to add mindfulness to your routine and learn about what happens in the brain when we feel “off,” call and make an appointment with Kyra today. Kyra also provides a few Friday and Saturday appointment time slots for those clients who are not able to meet during the work week. Kyra also offers a “Parenting Skills Group” on Mondays from 5:30-7:00PM. Kyra is currently working in the Tulsa office.

 Lee Martin MA, LPC                                                                                                         Lee is a licensed professional counselor who works well with individuals who are ready for real change.  With over 20 years of experience working with those in mental health crisis to highly motivated individuals, Lee offers a unique perspective on those struggling with anxiety and depression, He also works well with those trying to find greater meaning in their daily lives. He accomplishes this by helping clients find what they truly value, set real goals, and deeply connect with others in their life. Lee received his master’s degree at Oklahoma City University in Counseling Psychology.  Lee has worked as an outpatient therapist at Parkside Hospital, Red Rock Behavioral Health and as an inpatient therapist at Emerald Coast Behavioral Health in Panama City Florida, and at Laureate. Lee’s topics are based on his book: Freeing Oneself; Breaking Through Your Barriers to Find Balance and Happiness. Lee is a compassionate, empowering, and non-judgmental  therapist, here to help you navigate through life’s journey while finding your “best you”. Lee is also a Certified Medical Meditation Consultant as well as a Certified Stress Management Consultant. Lee currently provides evening, “in office” therapy sessions. Lee is currently working in the Tulsa office.

 Neva Johnson LPC    Tulsa Office

Neva has over 20 years in the counseling field with extensive experience working with teens and young adults, families and parents. She is currently working in the school counseling field at the High School of Oklahoma Connections Academy.  She has been working with High School Counseling Services for over 5 years. She fosters trust quickly and is able to get to the core of the problem offering strength based and solution focused counseling. She has also provided outpatient counseling for in the past from 2016-2018 where she conducted regular individual and family therapy sessions, working with teens, young adults in many areas including anxiety, depression, low self esteem, and trauma. She has extensive experience also working with parents regarding family issues. She is a very solid counselor and excellent with problem solving skills to help clients reach their goals quickly and provide a safe environment to share. She is currently offering evening telehealth counseling sessions for teens and young adults through Carole’s Hope Outpatient Counseling Services. Neva currently provides evening “telehealth” sessions only.

Jessica Burns MS LPC   Tulsa Office

 Navigating through the ebbs and flows of life can often be daunting. As a counselor, Jessica is passionate about providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to help her clients identify and achieve their personal goals. Together, she works with clients to identify thoughts and beliefs that may impact feelings, as well as deepen their understanding of choices they make and patterns in their life. Jessica has extensive experience in serving and treating adolescents and adults in a wide range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, bipolar, substance abuse, family conflict, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts, and more. She has over 10 years of experience in working in the mental health field in a variety of settings such as in schools, homes, outpatient office setting, and residential treatment facilities. Jessica’s theoretical approach is a combination of person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, relational cultural therapy, and strengths-based therapy. She tailors her approach to fit the needs of her clients. Jessica is currently accepting new clients for in-person or tele-health sessions. Jessica is currently in the Tulsa office.

Steve Phelps LMFT LADC   Owasso Office

Steve is a Licensed Therapist and a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor with over 30 years of professional experience in helping clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, lack of self esteem, and  lack of motivation. Steve also has extensive experience in working with individuals who are struggling with addiction. As a veteran himself, he is also passionate about helping veterans who are struggling with anxiety, depression and PTSD.  Steve is very passionate about working with families, adults, and teens struggling with obstacles and conflicts in their lives. He has many years of professional experience working with many types of diagnosis in the intensive outpatient unit at Laureate and in the outpatient setting both at Laureate and at Carole’s Hope. He is excellent in strengthening teens and families through interventions as they learn to conquer triggers, low self esteem, and obstacles that keep them feeling “stuck”, while changing thought patterns for a healthier future. Steve is currently working in the Owasso office.

Blakelea Martin-Brown LCSW   Tulsa Office                                                                             
 
Blakelea has over 13 years of counseling experience in Oklahoma.  She loves
working with adults and teens providing treatment for issues including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, women’s issues, LGBTQ and trauma, including religious trauma. Blakelea believes in taking a holistic approach to counseling, believing that it’s important to treat the whole person and have both body and mind involved in treatment. If you’re ready to unlearn conditioned patterns, Blakelea provides a safe space to show up as your most authentic self, to feel and express difficult emotions, and to navigate daily life situations. Blakelea believes that every day is a new opportunity to create the life you want and deserve. Blakelea also has a Divorce and Family Mediation Certification and can provide this is requested. Ivory Solomon MS, LPC   Tulsa Office
 

Ivory is passionate about helping others overcome life’s challenges. She believes that everyone can build resiliency and use their strengths to navigate through difficulties. Ivory works to help clients challenge unhealthy beliefs, learn new ways of coping, and increase mindfulness of self and others. Ivory received a master’s degree in clinical mental health and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northeastern State University.  As a Licensed professional counselor, Ivory has experience working with individuals for treatment in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and mood disorders. Ivory takes a client centered approach and is trained in a range of therapeutic interventions including  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Ivory strives to provide compassion and patience for clients to safely explore, grow, and develop self-awareness. She is dedicated to building a strong therapeutic alliance to tackle personal goals and help clients to continue moving forward with their lives.

Dan Cross LADC/MH Tulsa office

Dan Cross has a Master’s of Divinity from Oral Roberts University and is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He previously was the Senior Director of Substance Abuse Services for CREOKS Health Services before his retirement there and he was also the founder/owner of Abie Recovery in Oklahoma City. He has worked in the behavioral health field for 36 years and has built and directed hospital based and community based psychiatric and addiction treatment programs, yet he has always himself provided direct services because he loves helping people work through their problems. He works with adolescents and adults and finds that people have remarkable abilities to find rewarding lives, but that everyone needs help and support along the way.

 

Sheree Solitario LPC, LADC   TELEHEALTH/VIRTUAL COUNSELING ONLY 

Sheree is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Counseling from the University of Kansas in 1996.  She then began working with adults struggling with severe mental health issues. She received her Masters of Science degree in Psychology in 2006 and began working with reunification of families with histories of abuse, neglect, substance use and relationship issues. She also has several years of experience with adults and youth in individual and group settings. Helping others identify their individuality and worth is truly a passion of hers. She believes every single person has a purpose, and that the challenges we face are all part of our stories. She strives to help her clients recognize that no one is perfect, and we don’t have to allow our mistakes to control or discourage us. She believes that everyone can learn from their challenges and utilize their own individuality and talents to achieve a sense of acceptance and well being. She has a knack for helping her clients feel comfortable and heard as they explore and grow in their vulnerable areas. Sheree is currently accepting clients in the telehealth setting. She looks forward to meeting you and working together to achieve your goals.
 
Shonn Broyles, MS, LPC, Owner Carole’s Hope

Shonn has been in the counseling field for over 30 years. She graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree in Counseling Psychology,  She completed her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1998 and received her License in Professional Counseling  in 2001. She has extensive experience working with Anxiety, Panic, PTSD, Agoraphobia, Depression, Trauma, Worry and Stress, Building Inner Strength, Marriage Counseling and Resilience training. She is currently providing eight weeks of brief therapy sessions for marital/couples counseling and eight week brief therapy sessions for individual counseling for anxiety or depression. Shonn uses a strength based approach, talk-therapy, CBT, mindfulness and resilience focused therapy to help meet client’s personal goals. Shonn also is able to provide Christian focused counseling during your brief counseling sessions if requested.
